Greeget.com. Will Nene Take the Retirement Decision This Season. Amid the hubbub of the fight between the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals, news came from the Rockets’ senior flashlight, Nene.
Based on his interview with ESPN Brazil, Nene is pet the decision to retire at the end of this season. The Rockets themselves are in a draw (2-2) in the Western Conference semifinals with the Warriors.
Aside from being aged 36 years, Nene revealed that she wanted to focus more on fostering her family. He has three children and wants to give more focus to the three. On the other hand, Nene is also a person who is also active in religious activities in the church and wants to help more people there.
Nene’s journey as a religious was indeed quite winding. In 2008 while still defending the Denver Nuggets, he had a tumor in the area of the testicles which made him quite scared and had to go up to the operating table. His success in escaping from one of these dangerous diseases and still actively playing basketball has shown how great the role of God is in him.
Nene himself entered the NBA in the 2002/2003 season after being elected seventh in the NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. He became the first Brazilian player to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. However, he never once defended the Knicks. He was immediately exchanged for the Nuggets and spent his first 10 seasons there.
In the 2012 season, Nene was included in the three-team exchange package that made him a Washington Wizards player. Four seasons there, Nene who holds the status of a free player decided to join the Rockets until now.
After the Nuggets, Nene had never played regularly as a starter. When in the Wizards, he played more as a coating for Marcin Gortat. While four seasons back in the Rockets, he became a replacement for the potential young flashlight of the Rockets, Clint Capela.
Throughout his career, Nene is a typical conventional flashlight that relies on its strength in key areas. But before the flashlights increased their dexterity from long distance shooting, Nene already had the ability to shoot in the perimeter area.
On average, Nene packs 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 assists per game from the 965 games she has gone through. If later they actually retire at the end of the season, then the rows of players who enter the 2002 NBA Draft are no longer playing entirely.
